This site currently will be focusing on Accounting Software use and optimization, and related resources
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and I have also taken career coursework in computer systems, databases, human resources and benefits management and ongoing accounting and finance topics throughout.
I have been in the accounting software support world before, with various software systems. I was a Quickbooks Pro Advisor for several years back in the late 90’s, early 00’s.
In my work life, I’ve experiences various organizations doing awesome work, and through them have experienced the perspectives and priorities of various communities.
Now I am back at the U, working within the payroll/HR realm mainly, using PeopleSoft tools. I won’t be writing about that – don’t have sufficient levels of expertise in that area comparatively. Instead this site will be focused on Sage 50 (formerly Peachtree) and possibly other comparable software.
Part of my framework for accounting and payroll software is the database paradigm. I’ve worked with databases (as such) as well including MS Access, FileMaker Pro, 4D/A4, and very briefly MySql. That was during a FinTech BootCamp experience that was.. interesting, but ultimately focused differently than I would have liked. Would like to do lots more with databases in the future.
I also adore books, and at various times I indulge in book indexing: fascinating as an encapsulation of the book’s ideas into a word-database kind of.
Now – about you! I’m very interested in tailoring content for the audience etc, so please let me know your interests/backgrounds etc. as applicable, and/or if I know you in real life. I won’t include any embarrassing anecdotes or anything, promise. Just will be more relevant that way. More in this post.
